Realistic Prerequisites
- *Experience: Generally the more experience with upper-level math classes and research the better. It is thus recommended that this class be taken as an upperclassman.
Subject Matter
- In this course you do projects, so you will learn a lot about the topic(s) that you’ve selected.
Course Staff
- Caring and approachable: The staff were great. They were ample with feedback and put in lots of time outside of class to help.
Lectures
- There were no lectures.
Problem Sets
- There were no problem sets.
Exams
- There were no exams.
Resources
- There were no resources outside of presentation notes for some workshops.
Grading
- Students found the grading more harsh than fair.
- The grading was very not transparent. A TA said that 17/20 translates to an A.
Advice to Future Students
- It’s important to get a good group. Try to do the class with friends if possible. Communicate early with your team.
- Make sure you have experience in at least one area of math!
