Realistic Prerequisites

Subject Matter

• Most thought it was largely applied.
• Students described it as foundational and useful.

Course Staff

• Course staff were very friendly and eager to help.

Lectures

• Most students learned from both lectures and MITx videos.
• Students thought the lecture material was fast-paced.
• Students found problem sets and office hours reinforced concepts from lectures.

Problem Sets

• Challenging.
• Students found the problem sets hard to understand, but went to office hours to help clarify the problem statements.
• Students found the lectures did not prepare them for the psets.
• Every pset took between 5 and 8 hours to complete.

Exams

• The exams were fair.
• Practice exams helped the students prepare for the exams, and students spent 2 to 5 hours preparing for them.

Resources

• Students used the MITx videos and course notes, which they found to be helpful.

Grading
